Men's cross country team to run at FSC Invite Friday
The Eastern Florida State College men's cross country team will compete in the FSC Invite at Florida Southern in Lakeland on Friday morning.
The Titans will be one of 20 teams that will be competing at Holloway Park with the men's race scheduled to run an 8K at 6 p.m.
"This race will be more of our pace, less NCAA schools running so we should fare pretty well," Eastern Florida State College men's cross country coach Doug Butler said. "There are a few NCAA Division II teams running but we will get a chance to run against a lot of NJCAA teams."
It will be the final race of the regular season for the cross country team who will compete in the Region 8 Meet in Tallahassee on Oct. 24.
Sophomore Dayton Law is healthy and leads a Titans team that has ran well the past few weeks.
"We had a great workout this week and have actually tuned it back a bit so we should be ready to run on Friday. I can only run seven guys at the national tournament so there are some guys battling for spots and I need to see the guys go after it because that will help me decide who will go to nationals," Butler said.
