Men's cross country team runs well at North Alabama Showcase

Men's cross country team runs well at North Alabama Showcase

The Eastern Florida State College men's cross country team placed 29th in the North Alabama Showcase in Huntsville, Alabama on Friday morning.

The Titans competed among some of the top NCAA Division I and Division II teams in the country as Alabama won the team title with Kentucky and Georgia Tech rounding out the top three teams. 37 teams competed in the men's race.

Freshman Dayton Law finished the 8K race in 25 minutes and 25.16 seconds to finish 122nd overall. The run is a new school record as the Satellite Beach native continued to make his way through the pack throughout the race to finish in the top 125 of a race filled with some of the best NCAA Division I schools in the country.

Teammate Charlie Dickinson dropped more than a minute off his first time of the season, finishing in 27:07.12 while Josh Ingalls ran a 27:47.20. Gabriel Garcia and Nicholas Spence also finished in the top 300 as Garcia finished his first race of the season in 28:32.37 and Spence ran a 28:50.11 in his first race. Ethan Heise ran a 29:59.02 while Sam Addington finished in 32:56.78 and Nolen Genna ran a 33:35.78 which were both personal bests this season.

Alabama's Victor Kiprop won the individual title, running a 23:18.30.

Eastern Florida State College will compete in the FSU Invite in Tallahassee on Friday, October 7.
