Men's basketball hosts tournament this weekend

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team will be home for the first time this season on Friday afternoon for the first day of the Eastern Florida Classic.
The Titans, who are 3-1 on the season, will host South Georgia State College at 4 p.m. Friday to open the tournament.
South Georgia State College, who went to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament last season, has gotten off to a slow start this season. The Hawks are 1-2 and are led by sophomore guard Chandler Thomas who is averaging 15.7 points per game.
Eastern Florida State College is coming off a strong weekend in Idaho at the Battle for the Boot Tournament where they finished in third place. Sean Register Jr. led an offensive attack that is averaging 96.5 points per game. Register, who was named the FCSAA Division I Player of the Week, averaged 25 points per game in the tournament. Teammate Tyson Wilson had a double-double in the first game of the tournament and Nick Oliver averaged 17 points per game last week.
Indian River State College will play South Georgia Tech in the second game beginning at 6 p.m. Then on Saturday, the Titans will play South Georgia Tech at 2 p.m. with The River faces South Georgia State College at 4 p.m.
