Men's basketball team hits the road Tuesday for conference game
The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team hits the road for a Citrus Conference game with Miami Dade College Tuesday night.
The No. 18 ranked Titans have won four games in a row and are coming off a big win over No. 2 Daytona State College last Saturday. Eastern Florida State College comes into the contest with the Sharks 4-1 in the conference and 16-3 overall.
Miami Dade College has won two straight and are 1-2 in the conference and 11-7 overall. The Sharks have five players averaging at least 10 points per game led by John Latimer who is averaging 17.3 points per game while teammates Esteban Lluberes and Alaaeddine Boutayeb are each averaging 11 points while Shane Lancaster and Ibrahim Zahran each average 10 points per game.
Eastern Florida State College is averaging 85.3 points per game and have four players averaging double figures in points. Sophomore Owen Aquino is averaging 14.5 points and 7.8 rebounds in 18 games this season while teammate Matija Zuzic averages 12.2 and Luca Colceag has scored 11.9 points per game. Guard Carlos Cortijo is averaging 10 points per game.
Tuesday night's conference game will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Miami. After Tuesday, the Titans will have eight days before travelling to Hillsborough Community College on Jan. 31.
