Men's basketball team getting ready for battle with Palm Beach State

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team have been preparing for this game ever since they walked off the court at Palm Beach State College Jan. 18.

Tuesday night at Titan Field House, the two teams meet to settle the score as each team has a win in the series after Palm Beach State's 69-65 win Jan. 18. The Titans won the first matchup earlier in the month, 106-83. The stakes could not be much bigger as the Titans hold a one-game lead over Palm Beach State in the Southern Conference standings.

Since that loss, the Titans have won five straight games, outscoring opponents by an average of over 30 points per game and head into the game 22-3 overall and 8-2 in the conference.

"They are one of the best teams in the country for a reason. They are loaded at every position and very well coached," Eastern Florida State College men's basketball coach Jeremy Shulman said. "We are going to have to have a great game plan ready and execute all of the little things on Tuesday."

Palm Beach State comes into the game 21-4 overall and 7-3 in the conference and have not lost since Jan. 14.

In the Titans' 95-68 win over Miami Dade Saturday afternoon, Kaleel Solomon had a career high 18 points on six 3-pointers. The freshman from the Bahamas is averaging 11 points per game in his past five games. Teammate Kareem Brewton also had 21 points and has finished in double figures in every game this season for the Titans.

The game will be the first of three in the next eight days for the Titans as they try and lock up their fifth straight Southern Conference title.

Tuesday night's game will also feature the Heritage High School band performing during the game as well as at halftime.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. and will be shown live on WEFS-TV as well as online at efsctitans.com/webcast
