Titan Men Beat Broward 81-67
Eastern Florida's men's basketball team built a 43-36 halftime lead and went on to defeat Broward College 81-67 in Davie on Monday.
The FCSAA Southern Conference victory improved Eastern Florida's record to 7-0 in the conference and 19-3 overall.
Broward, losing for the second time to Eastern Florida, fell to 3-4 and 12-9.
Freshman Joan Duran led the Titans with 20 points. Sophomore B.J. Gladden scored 16 and freshman Richard Gaines 13.
"On the road against a very good team in a hostile environment our guys dug deep and found a way," said Eastern Florida head coach Jeremy Shulman.
"True toughness game. I am so proud of the guys. Joan Duran in particular stepped up huge."
Eastern Florida, ranked third in the state, continues its three conference road games in six days gauntlet on Wednesday as it travels to Hialeah to play ASA Miami. The Titans wrap up the journey against Indian River State at 2 p.m. Saturday in Fort Pierce. They then host Miami Dade at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2 at the Titan Field House on the Melbourne Campus.
The Miami Dade game will be televised live on WEFS-TV and streamed live at www.efsctitans.com.
