The Eastern Florida State College baseball team defeated first-place Miami Dade on Saturday afternoon at Bruce Bochy Field.
The Titans, who won two of the four-game series with the Sharks, jumped out early to defeat Miami Dade 9-4 to improve to 4-9 in the conference.
Kyle Dentmon gave the Titans an early lead with a two-run triple and scored on Nathan Housen's ground out to give Eastern Florida State College a 3-1 lead.
Lake Fisher extended the lead in the second inning, hitting his 10th home run of the season – a three-run shot. Fisher becomes the first Titans player to have double digit home runs in the past 12 seasons.
Darien Smith was solid all day, allowing three earned runs over seven innings, striking out six for his sixth win of the season.
Garrett Evans finished with three hits while Kaeber Rog, Dentmon and Drew Stubbs each had two hits in the win.
Eastern Florida State College will open a series with Indian River State College Tuesday with Game 1 beginning at 6 p.m. at Bruce Bochy Field.
