Volleyball team honors sophomores Saturday before match with SCF-Manatee
The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team will honor the sophomore class Saturday afternoon before its Suncoast Conference match with the State College of Florida-Manatee.
The Titans will honor five players before the 3 p.m. match at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus.
Giselle Giraud, Desiree Cruz, Janleen De Jesus, Maria Cordova and Charlette Ayala will play at Titan Field House for one of the final times in their career on Saturday.
And the group has had some memorable moments in their Titans career as four of the sophomores helped the Titans make the state tournament last season. Giraud has recorded over 200 kills in both of her seasons with the Titans while De Jesus is closing in on 400 assists this season and has reached 200 digs in her career. Cruz has almost 200 kills as a middle hitter for the Titans while Ayala and Cordova have both been key players for the Titans.
Eastern Florida State College comes into Saturday's match 4-11 overall and are 2-9 in the Suncoast Conference. They defeated SCF-Manatee in four sets in the first meeting on the road.
