Women's golf team finishes strong at Embry Riddle event
The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team finished strong at the Embry Riddle Eagle Invitational at LPGA International in Daytona Beach.
The Titans had three players finish in the top 30 individually and as a team shot 19 strokes better in the final round.
Freshman Dayna Owens shot 2-over on the back nine to finish with an 83 and in a tie for 11th place for the tournament, shooting a 164 for the two rounds. Teammate and sophomore Danica Swaggerty shot a team-best 81 on Tuesday and finished with a 171, good for 28th place.
Sophomore Katelyn McCallum finished with an 82 and finished tied for 30th overall.
The Titans will play Lake Forest University in a match play event at Hunter's Creek Golf Club in Orlando on Thursday before competing in the Florida Tech Panther Invitational April 9-11.
