Women's golf team struggles on first day of Webber Classic

The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team battled the elements in the first round of the Webber Fall Classic on Saturday.

"River Greens Golf Course is an awkward, short narrow course that we struggled with today," Eastern Florida women's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "It was a tough day all around."

Lauren Holder led the team with an 82 and is in fourth place while teammate Regan Taylor is tied for seventh after shooting an 87 and freshman Gianna Piscitelli is tied for ninth with an 88 in her first official collegiate event.

Final round action from the River Green Golf Course will begin tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
