Men's golf team places second at the Southeastern District Preview

The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team finished second in the NJCAA Southeastern District Preview in Union Grove, Alabama on Tuesday.

The Titans shot a final round 303 to place second overall in the tournament. Central Alabama won the tournament, shooting a 294 in the final round.

Sophomore Adam Vermut continued his solid play, shooting 1-under 71 in the final round to shoot even par 216 for the three rounds and finish second overall. It is his second straight tournament finishing second overall.

Teammate Nicholas Miller tied for eighth overall after a 76 in the final round and finished with a 226. Bryan Hernandez placed 18th with a 78 on Tuesday tying with freshman Masen McKain who also shot a 78. Jamie Chepenik had an 80 and finished 24th overall.

"The team struggled all day with the exception of Adam Vermut, he had another solid finish," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Plenty of areas to work on before national preview in October."

Eastern Florida State College will play in the National Preview at New Mexico Junior College on Oct. 23-24.
