Men's golf team in third after first round of Florida Tech Invitational
The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team is in third place after the first round of the Florida Tech Invitational Sunday at Duran Golf Club.
Sophomore Beck Fox is leading the field after shooting 6-under 66 in the first round. Fox eagles the ninth hole to go with four birdies and no bogeys in the round. The Titans shot 2-under par as a team.
Teammate Thomas Matthews shot even par and is tied for seventh while Ben Ramos and Sean McGinty each shot two-over par. Tanner Gonzalez finished at 5-over.
Barry University, who is No. 1 in the latest NCAA Division II rankings leads the tournament, shooting an 8-under as a team. Host Florida Tech is in second place, five strokes ahead of the Titans.
The Titans will tee off in the second round of the tournament at 10 a.m. on Monday.
