Four Titan golfers to compete in state amateur event
Four members of the Eastern Florida State College men's golf team have qualified for the 101st Florida State Amateur on June 21-24 in Bradenton.
Ryan Rozic, Kyle Decenzo, Beck Fox and Gregory Darnell will all compete in the tournament at the Ritz-Carlton Members Golf Club and The Concession the first two days with the final two rounds scheduled to be played at The Concession.
Darnell shot a 72 and Fox a 73 Monday at the Indian River Club in Vero Beach to qualify, while Decenzo shot a 70 at the King & Bear World Golf Village in St. Augustine and Rozic had a 74 at Walt Disney World Golf in Lake Buena Vista.
All four Titans competed in the NJCAA National Championship Tournament, helping the team place eighth overall in the nation last month. Rozic, Decenzo and Darnell were sophomores while Fox is a freshman and will return next season.
Fox finished tied for 66th last season in the event.
