Men's golf team hosts District 4 Championship Monday-Tuesday
The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team will play for a spot in the NJCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship this week at Duran Golf Club.
The Titans, who are No. 2 in the latest Bushnell Golfweek NJCAA Division I Coaches Poll, are looking to win their fourth straight NJCAA District 4 Championship title and fifth in the past six years.
The top six of the 12 teams will advance to the national tournament but that is not the team's goal this week.
"I would like to think we are going to be competitive, we aren't showing up just to move on, we are at home and when we played the district preview in the fall, we won by 33. The fall was a special time for us," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "And I look for us to be just as competitive now and when we are done on Tuesday it will be interesting to see where we end up."
Sophomore Fraser Davren has one win in the fall and finished sixth in two of the spring events this season and is looking to return to the national tournament along with Ryan Rozic who also has a top 10 finish this spring.
The Titans have qualified for the national tournament the past 15 seasons and placed second back in 2015.
