Golf teams pick up wins against Lake Forest

The Eastern Florida State College golf teams had a big day in match play event against Lake Forest University at Hunter's Creek Golf Club in Orlando.

The men's golf team picked up all seven wins on Thursday afternoon as Fraser Davren, Beck Fox, Kyle Decenzo, Gregory Darnell, Tanner Gonzalez, Patxi Londaitz and Josh Postlewait all picked up victories.

"The guys played reasonably well today," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Lake Forest had not played since the Fall so really too early in the spring season to gauge where their team might be."

The men's team will travel to Barry University for the Barry Buccaneer Invitational April 2-3.

On the women's side, freshman Dayna Owens shot a 79 while Danica Swaggerty had an 87 and Lauren Holder shot a 90, picking up wins in stroke play against Lake Forest.

The women's team will compete in the Florida Tech Panther Invitational at Duran Golf Club April 9-11.
