Men's golf teams fare well on first day of Titan Invitational
The Eastern Florida State College men's golf Blue team is in third place after the first two rounds of the Titan Invitational at Suntree Country Club.
The Blue team is nine strokes behind Keiser University who is in first after shooting a 571. Florida Tech's A team shot a 577.
Greg Darnell had two solid rounds, shooting 71 in each round to lead the way with a 142. Teammates Fraser Davren, Beck Fox and Ryan Rozic each shot 146. Kyle Decenzo finished with a 155.
"The men's team played well all day and had good balance," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Good scoring from Greg Darnell and solid play by Davren, Fox and Rozic. Decenzo was under the weather last week and is still recovering."
The White team is in 10th place after two rounds, shooting a 610. Patxi Londaitz shot a 147, Tanner Gonzalez sits at 153 and Chandler Dixon and Josh Postlewait each finished at 155.
"We need to be more efficient saving shots tomorrow as Keiser and Florida Tech are both solid teams," Howell said. "It will be a good test for all and if the weather is as good as today it should be a good shootout."
The final round will begin at 8 a.m. at Suntree Country Club.
