Golf teams fall to FIT in Collegiate Players Cup
The Eastern Florida State College golf teams played as one team for the first time but lost to Florida Tech in the annual Collegiate Players Cup event at Rockledge Country Club.
Florida Tech retained the Cup with a 19.5-4.5 win in the Ryder Cup style event.
Eastern Florida State College's Ryan Rozic and Patxi Londaitz picked up a win in the alternate shot round and Mathieu Echelard and Gregory Darnell teamed up to earn half a point with a tie.
Then both teams teed off for the singles round and Lauren Holder won her match against Noelle Beijer on the final hole as did Tanner Gonzalez and Echelard.
Beck Fox, Darnell and Regan Taylor all lost close matchups on the 18th hole for the Titans.
The women's team will be right back at it Monday and Tuesday, competing in the Flagler College Fall Slam in St. Augustine while the men's team will compete in the McDonough Cup in Orlando Oct. 30-31.
