The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team struggled against Indian River State College Wednesday in the home opener at Titan Field House.
The Pioneers swept the Titans, winning 25-8, 25-16, 25-21.
Indian River State College scored 10 straight points on their way to a first set win and won the second set 25-16.
The Titans started the third set with a different lineup and got off to a better start, leading 3-0 and 10-8 but could not pull away as the match was tied 20-20. Eastern Florida State College took a brief lead 21-20 on a Maddy Campbell kill but Indian River State College scored the next five points to hand the Titans their second loss of the season.
Freshman Madeline Browne had five kills and hit .714 in the match while teammate Maredis Colon had 13 digs and seven kills for the Titans who fell to 4-2.
Eastern Florida State College will travel to the Florida State College at Jacksonville for a tournament on Friday and Saturday.
