Women's soccer team opens Southeast District Tournament Thursday in Georgia
The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team will head to Georgia for the Southeast District Tournament this week.
The Titans come into the game 12-0 overall and No. 2 in the NJCAA Division I poll and will open Thursday at 6 p.m. against host Gordon State College in a rematch of last year's Southeast District final, which the Titans won 5-0.
The Titans advanced to the Southeast District Tournament by defeating Daytona State College 2-1 in overtime in the Region 8 final. Gordon State comes into the tournament 16-2-2 overall and have won six straight heading into the tournament. The Highlanders beat Georgia Military 1-0 in the Region 17 final to advance.
Georgia Military will play Spartanburg Methodist in the first semifinal Thursday at 2 p.m. Spartanburg Methodist is 12-5-1 and defeated Cape Fear 2-0 in the Region 10 final.
The winners on Thursday will play in the Southeast District final Friday at 3 p.m. for the title and a spot in the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament Nov. 18-23 at Eastern Florida State College.
