Women's soccer team travels to Daytona State College for Region 8 Conference matchup
The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team heads to Daytona State College Wednesday night for a key Region 8 Conference matchup.
The Titans are 7-0 overall and 5-0 in the conference this season and are No. 3 in the latest NJCAA Division I poll.
Daytona State College comes into the game 5-2 overall and 3-2 in the conference and in second place in the conference. The Falcons have won two straight including a come-from-behind win against ASA Miami.
Eastern Florida State College is led by sophomore Morgan Miller who leads Region 8 with eight goals this season and has a goal or an assist in every game this season. Daytona State College counters with Michelle O'Driscoll who has six goals this season.
"Daytona is a fantastic team and Brittany has done an amazing job building their program," Eastern Florida State College women's soccer coach Jeff Carr said. "They are one of the best teams in the country every year. It will be a battle and hopefully we are up to the challenge."
The Titans won the first meeting 3-0 at Orlando Health Stadium and have won the past four meetings. The two teams have met nine times with the Titans winning seven of those matchups.
The game will begin at 7 p.m. at Daytona State College and can be seen live on DSC-TV locally or online at Daytona State College's YouTube page.
The Titans will be on the road the rest of the regular season as well as for the conference tournament, which will be held at Daytona State College this year.
"It will be tough playing our last three games on the road and also for the conference tournament. We have to focus on Daytona and the strong team they have and not worry about any other game at this point," Carr said.
