Women's golf team places second at Webber Fall Classic
The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team once again shot the best round of the fall season, placing second in the 18th annual Webber Women's Fall Invitational at Lake Wales Country Club.
The Titans shot a 303 on Tuesday, the best round of the day and for the fall season. Eastern Florida State College finished six strokes behind champion William Carey University.
All five Titan golfers finished with scores under 80 led by sophomore Kacey Walker. Walker shot a 2-over 74 for the second straight day and finished in second place overall. Teammates Sloan Lanier and Elise Boccabella finished tied for fifth overall as Lanier shot a 75 while Boccabella had a 76.
Trinity Falzone and Delia Timpy each shot a 78 in the final round.
"Good solid play by all as the team continues to improve," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Finishing five back gives the team a better taste of how valuable every shot is."
The Titans will wrap up the fall season Oct. 21 and 22 at the Flagler Invitational in St. Augustine.
