Men's golf team wins Collegiate Players Cup

The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team won the Collegiate Players Cup Friday for the second straight season at Suntree Country Club.

The Titans defeated Florida Tech 5.5-2.5 to keep the cup.

Eastern Florida State College got off to a good start in the morning four ball event, picking up three of the four points.

Tom Matthews and Ben Ramos teamed up to win 2&1, Josh Yang and Drew Lanier won 1-up and Pontis Torgner and Kacey Walker picked up the win 7&5.

In the afternoon the teams played foursomes and Yang and Lanier picked up another win one up and Ryan McMillan and Sean McGinty picked up the win 4&3. Matthews and Ramos halved their match as the Titans picked up 2 ½ points in the afternoon session.

The Titans will finish the fall season at the Central Alabama Fall Intercollegiate event in Mississippi Monday and Tuesday.
