Men's golf team places second at GMI Bulldog Classic
The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team rebounded to finish second in the GMI Bulldog Classic in Lake Oconee, Georgia.
Titans sophomore Thomas Matthews picked up his first collegiate victory, shooting a 68 in the second round to go from tied for eighth into the top spot, finishing at 144 for the tournament.
The team jumped up three places after shooting a 294 and finished in second place to Central Alabama.
Josh Yang shot a 73 to finish at 155 while teammate Ben Ramos shot a 74 and finished with a 157. Ryan McMillan shot an 81 to finish with a 159 and Pontus Torgner shot a 79 and finished with a 161.
"Good comeback to move up in the event as well as another solid event for Matthews," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Plenty of work to be done before we play at the McDonough Cup in October."
The men's golf team will go to the McDonough Cup Oct. 28-29.
