The Indian Hills Community College men's golf team shot an 18-under par 270 in the second round of the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament Wednesday at Duran Golf Club in Viera, FL.

Indian Hills heads into the third round of the tournament at 25-under and has a four-stroke lead on New Mexico Junior College. Harry Doig shot the best round of the day, shooting a 6-under 66 and is in second place overall. Teammate George Clarke shot a 5-under and is tied for third with teammate Josh Hodgson who shot a 2-under in the second round.

"It was there for the getting again this morning and New Mexico took it pretty low and obviously Indian Hills took it real low," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "That's terrific golf. Hats off to them and if you shoot scores like that, it is just good golf."

New Mexico Junior College had its second straight strong round, shooting 10-under 278 as a team and is at 21-under for the tournament.

Liam Duncan shot 67 for the second straight lead and leads the tournament at 10-under. Teammate Andrew Ni shot 4-under on Wednesday while Zhane Chan shot a 2-under and is tied for 11th place overall at 5-under for tournament.

Midland Community College is in third place at 14-under while Central Alabama Community College is fourth and Eastern Florida State College is fifth at the halfway mark of the tournament.

While the overall average score was up from the first round, there were eight eagles in the round. The final two holes of Duran Golf Club continue to be the hardest holes with just four birdies recorded, one on 18 and three on 17.

The third round begins at 7:20 a.m. with the top three teams teeing off at 1:10 p.m.
