Palm Beach State College
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team defeated Palm Beach State College 5-2 Saturday to win the weekend series.
It was the third straight series win for the Titans, who are now 6-3 in the Southern Conference. Palm Beach State College falls to 4-5.
The Titans opened up a tight game in the bottom of the sixth with two runs and scored anothr in the eighth for the win.
Alex Carpenter improved to 2-0 with the win in relief of starter Connor Brian and Andres Rodriguez pitched two scoreless innings for his fourth save.
Alejandro Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with an RBI and scored twice while Steven Lugo and Clayton Stanley each had two hits.
The Titans will host Broward College on Wednesday night in a Southern Conference game at 6 p.m. Admission to games at Bruce Bochy Field is free.
