Women's volleyball team beats Vincennes at Blazer Classic
The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team defeated host Vincennes University in straight sets Saturday morning at the Blazer Classic.
The No. 20 ranked Titans won 25-21, 25-19 and 25-19 to win their eighth match of the season. They are now 3-0 at the Blazer Classic.
Down 17-12 in the first set the Titans turned things around, tying the match 19-19 on a good serve from Lesmary Raffucci. A block and a couple kills by freshman Cherlialix Carmona and the Titans found themselves up 22-19. Riley Buddie finished off the first set with a kill.
The second set was tight throughout with 10 ties but a late run from Eastern Florida State College, scoring six of the final seven points gave them a 2-0 lead.
Vincennes continued to play hard and the third set was much like the second set, all tied up 14-14. A couple of big service points from Sophia Iglesias seemed to get the Titans going and kills from Dominae Jordan and Carmona gave the Titans a 20-17 lead. Aliah Snider had a couple of aces including the final point of the match to give the Titans a win.
