Women's volleyball team wins in straight sets on Sophomore Day

The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team defeated Santa Fe in straight sets to wrap up the regular season on Saturday afternoon.

The 16th-ranked Titans picked up the straight set win 25-13, 25-17, 25-18 on Sophomore Day at Titan Field House.

And the sophomores put on a show in their final match at home.

Sofia Kamke served 12 straight points in the first set as the Titans led 13-1 as the run including a couple of aces from the sophomore from Brazil. Emma Kiser and Paulina Dobrinova each had some big kills throughout the first set as the Titans rolled to a 25-13 win.

Dobrinova got things going in the second set with two early kills that had the Titans leading 5-4. A Kiser kill upped the lead to 15-8 and Daphne Wibranowski got into the act with a kill as well. Juliana De Acharan posted an ace to give the Titans 23 points and they would go on to win the second set 25-17.

De Acharan had a couple of more aces in the third set and a Kamke kill finished it off as the Titans won the set 25-18 and the match in three sets.

Eastern Florida State College finish the regular season 14-7 and 7-7 in the Citrus Conference. They will head to the FCSAA State Tournament on Nov. 3.
