Women's volleyball team hosts No. 1 Florida Southwestern Saturday in conference match

The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team will host No. 1 Florida Southwestern Saturday afternoon at Titan Field House.

The 17th-ranked Titans are on a four-game winning streak and host the Bucs at 2 p.m. Saturday in a Citrus Conference match. Florida Southwestern is a perfect 10-0 in the conference and 21-0 on the season.

Florida Southwestern is led by Alondra Alarcon who has had at least 13 kills in each of the past five matches while Roberta Purashaj leads Region 8 in assists per set with 10.90 and teammate Anica Bobic is averaging a Region 8 best 0.68 service aces per set. Izzy Collier is averaging 1.18 blocks per set which also leads the state.

Eastern Florida State College has been on a run the past couple of weeks and come into the contest 6-5 in the conference. Freshman Dominae Jordan has had at least 16 kills in four of the past five matches and sophomore Juliana De Acharan has had over 40 assists in each of the past two patches including a season-high 47 against Indian River on Wednesday night.

Florida Southwestern won the first meeting against the Titans 3-0 and leads the series 7-0.
