Women's volleyball player Riedmuller named Region 8 Defensive Player of Week

Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball player Gaia Riedmuller was named the Region 8 Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.

The sophomore libero had one of her best matches of the season in the Titans five set victory over Miami Dade on Saturday. Riedmuller finished with a season-high 29 digs against the Sharks and also had five assists in the victory. In three matches this week, Riedmuller had 61 digs and 15 assists.

For the season Riedmuller has 20-plus digs twice and is averaging 3.78 digs per set which is sixth in Region 8.  

Riedmuller is the first EFSC women's volleyball player to be named a Region 8 player of the week this season.
