Volleyball team hosts No. 1 Florida Southwestern Saturday in conference matchup

The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team is back at Titan Field House Saturday afternoon, hosting No. 1 ranked Florida Southwestern in a Suncoast Conference match.

The Titans, who have won the past three matches and are 12-3 overall and 3-2 in the conference, will play Florida Southwestern at 3 p.m. Saturday. The Bucs come in unbeaten at 13-0 overall and 5-0 in the conference and have only lost one set in conference matches this season.

Eastern Florida State College is coming off a four-set victory against Santa Fe on Thursday in which they overcame a slow start to win three straight sets.

Kiser, who was also named the NJCAA Division I Offensive Player of the Week, is one of three Titans that are averaging over two kills per set this season. Paulina Dobreva is averaging 2.68 kills per set and teammate Sofia Kamke is averaging 2.50.

De Acharan is third in the state in assists per set, averaging 7.66. The freshman was named the FCSAA Region 8 Setter of the Week last week, recording 36 and 45 assists in the two matches.

Florida Southwestern is led by Barbara Koehler who leads the state in kills per set with 3.79 while teammate Roberta Purashaj is averaging 10 assists per set this season.

Saturday's match at Titan Field House will begin at 3 p.m. and admission is free. Fans can also watch the match live online on the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
