Women's volleyball team falls in four sets on the road

The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team dropped a Suncoast Conference match to Indian River State College in four sets on Saturday afternoon.

The Titans battled back after losing the first two sets to force a fourth set, falling on the road 25-17, 25-21, 23-25, 25-22.

After losing the first set and down 18-11 in the second set, the Titans began finding their game as they cut the lead to four at 19-15 and then three at 22-19 before the Pioneers wrapped up the second set.

But the Titans would keep the momentum in the third set, opening on a 3-0 run and went on a 5-0 run later in the set to hold an 11-8 lead. They would hold the lead the rest of the set and looked like they won the set 25-19 but a controversial call kept the Pioneers alive and they made the most of it, pushing the Titans to 24-23 before Eastern Florida State College won the third set.

The two teams were tied 13-13 in the fourth before the Pioneers went on a 7-3 run and held on for the win.

Eastern Florida State College falls to 3-6 overall and 1-5 in the conference. The Titans will host Santa Fe College Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus.
