Women's volleyball team tops Lake Sumter

The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team snapped an eight-match losing streak Saturday afternoon.

The Titans defeated Lake Sumter after falling behind 2-0 to win in five sets on the road.

After falling behind 25-18, 25-18 the Titans rallied back to win the third set 25-21 and then tied it up on a Cassandra Gregory serve and Sarah Langenbach kept the point alive with a nice dig, allowing the Titans to send the match to a fifth set.

Tied 10-10 the Titans won five of the next six points to win the set 15-11 and the match to improve to 8-13 on the season.

Keydelis Nieves had 18 kills and 23 digs while Maddy Campbell had 10 kills and Renae Watson finished with nine. Langenbach finished with 18 digs and eight assists while Gregory finished with 40 assists.

The Titans will wrap up the regular season on Tuesday night at Indian River State College.
