Women's volleyball team falls to College of Central Florida

The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team lost its final home match of the season Thursday night at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus.

The No. 12-ranked College of Central Florida defeated the Titans 25-21, 25-16, 25-19 in a Mid-Florida Conference match.

Down early in the first set the Titans came back to tie things up 12-12 on a Trinity Carlos ace and would tie things up at 15-15 before the Patriots went on an 8-2 run, eventually taking the first set 25-21.

The second set was all Patriots as they easily took a 2-0 advantage.

It looked like they would finish things quickly, but the Titans responded, going on a nice run after being down 19-12. Renae Watson would record a kill and then Keydelise Nieves had an ace as they would eventually cut it to 20-15 but could get no closer.

The Titans, who fell to 7-12 overall and 0-6 in the conference, will play three times in the regular season, going on the road to play Santa Fe College on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. match and then will go to Lake Sumter State College next Saturday for a 1 p.m. match.
