Volleyball team loses to College of Central Florida

The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team lost a Mid-Florida Conference road match Tuesday night.

The Titans fell to No. 12 College of Central Florida in three sets, 25-17, 25-12 and 25-19 and is now 7-8 overall and 0-3 in the conference.

Eastern Florida State College came out playing well, taking a 6-5 lead in the first set but the College of Central Florida went on a run to take an eight-point lead at 18-10. From there the teams traded points with the Patriots winning 25-17.

The College of Central Florida jumped out to a 13-2 lead in the second set, cruising to a 25-12 win.

The third set saw more of the same early, but the Titans battled back from down 20-13 to fall 25-19.

Eastern Florida State College will travel to No. 1 Polk State College on Thursday night before hosting Lake Sumter Community College at 6 p.m. Friday night in a non-conference match. The program will honor the sophomores after the match.
