Volleyball team earns split at tournament in Jacksonville

The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team earned a split on the first day of the Florida State College of Jacksonville Tournament on Friday.

The Titans dropped the first match of the day to Hillsborough Community College, 25-15, 25-19, 25-18 but came back to beat Richard Bland College 25-9, 25-14, 25-19 in the second match of the day.

"After losing three games in a row the team came out strong with the determination to compete and handled adversity very well to win the match," Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball coach Carmelo Eleutiza said. "I am very proud of the way my team competed."

Eastern Florida State College will face Florida Southwestern at 10 a.m. and then the host FSC Jacksonville at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The Titans will be back at Titan Field House Friday, Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. against Webber International JV.
