Women's volleyball team hosts Indian River State College Wednesday

The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team will host Indian River State College in the home opener at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The Titans come into the match 4-1 on the season and are led by sophomore Nyasia John who has 31 kills in four matches while freshman Cassandra Gregory is averaging 5.15 assists per set for the Titans.

"We are very excited, happy to be able to play in front of our fans and volleyball community," Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball coach Carmelo Eleutiza said. "A little bit concerned because we have not been in the gym for the past week. The way we started in Phoenix, we want to keep rolling and playing so hopefully that small break doesn't hold us back."

They will face an Indian River State College team that is 6-2 on the season and ranked eighth in the latest Region 8 Coaches Poll after going 3-1 in the Daytona State Invitational last weekend. Outside hitter Tessa Raadsheer is in the top 10 in Region 8 in kills with 83 in six matches.

"Mentally we are ready, we have had a good couple of practices and are ready to face Indian River," Eleutiza said.

Admission to matches at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus of Eastern Florida State College is free to the public.
