Volleyball team earns split at tri-match

The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team earned a split in the Santa Fe tri-match Saturday in Gainesville.

The Titans won the opener against Florida Gateway in four sets, coming back to win the first set 25-21. Florida Gateway would tie it up with a 26-24 win but the Titans found their rhythm to win the next two sets 25-11 and 25-18.

They would stay on the court for a rematch with Santa Fe and despite falling in three sets the Titans once again fought back against the Saints.

After falling 25-14 in the first set and going down 17-8 in the second set, the Titans would go on a 7-1 run to cut the lead to 18-15. The two teams traded points from there with Santa Fe winning the second set 25-21. The Saints would remain unbeaten on the season with a 25-12 third set.

The Titans (1-4) will travel to Webber International on Tuesday night.
