Volleyball team upends St. Johns River in four sets

The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team improved to 6-1 on the season with a four-set victory over St. Johns River at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus Thursday night.

The Titans jumped out to a big lead in the first set but St. Johns River scored seven straight points to tie things at 24-24, but the Titans held on for the 26-24 win.

The second set was all Titans as an Elisa Pauzer kill ended the set 25-14. The third set saw St. Johns River come out and grab an early four point lead but the Titans battled back behind some strong play from freshman Erin Arbour and cut the lead to one but could not get over the hump, falling 23-25.

Pauzer had a strong kill and then a block to get the Titans going in the fourth set and they never looked back, picking up the 25-19 win.

Eastern Florida State College will be back on the court Saturday when they host Indian River State College, Santa Fe and Florida State College of Jacksonville. The Titans will open the day at 11 a.m. against FSC-Jacksonville. Admission to Titans sporting events is free.
