Titans volleyball team to honor five at Sophomore Night

The Eastern Florida State College volleyball team will recognize five sophomores following Thursday night's final home game.

Malvis Ortiz, Megan Graefe, Ludmila Bomfim, Alondra Modesto and Mariah Menke will take the Titan Field House courts for the final time when the Titans host Webber International JV at 6 p.m.

Graefe comes into her final match with almost 700 career digs and is among the best in Region 8 averaging 4.71 digs per set. 

Ortiz comes into the final match with a team-high 229 kills this season and will finish her Titans career with close to 400 kills.

Bomfim has been the team's top setter all season and has accumulated over 500 assists which is 10th in the region. Bomfim is averaging 7.17 assists per set heading into her final match as a Titan.

Modesto came off the bench for the Titans and was a presence at the net with 43 kills heading into tonight's final match.

Menke was a solid defender off the bench for the Titans and goes into her final match with 184 digs and 48 kills in her career.

"The work on the court speaks for itself. They have been a good core group of leaders both on and off the court," Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball head coach Andrea Rasmussen said. "It's unbelievable the amount of growth and development that we have seen in these five ladies. My biggest accomplishment as a coach is getting to see these girls go to bigger programs and find success. There is nothing better than that and all five have an opportunity to do that."
