Titans volleyball picks up two wins at Invitational

The Eastern Florida State College volleyball team swept both matches on the first day of the Spartanburg Invitation in South Carolina Friday.

The Titans opened the day with host Spartanburg Methodist and picked up their first win of the season with a 25-13, 25-21, 25-13 victory.

The team came back in the afternoon and defeated Walters State Community College in straight sets, 25-13, 25-7 and 25-17.

Delaney Smith led the Titans with nine kills in the second game while Kylie Hurst and Rachael Gunn each had eight. Megan Graefe finished with a team-high 17 digs.

The Titans improved to 2-1 and will play two more matches on Saturday, facing Andrew College at 9 a.m. and then St. John's River at 11 a.m. Eastern Florida State College will host St. John's River at 6 p.m. Tuesday night at Titan Field House for the team's home opener.
