Women's tennis team hosts State College of Florida-Manatee Friday

The Eastern Florida State College women's tennis team will open the Region VIII Conference schedule on Friday afternoon at Titan Tennis Center.

The Titans will also be playing their first match of the spring season on Friday. Sophomore Kayla Greco returns after a successful freshman season in which she lost in the semifinals at No. 3 singles in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament.

The rest of the team is new this season but are a talented bunch as they enter the spring season No. 9 in the ITA NJCAA Women's National Team Rankings and is fourth in the Region IV rankings.

The Titans will host the State College of Florida, Manatee in the opener. SCF-Manatee is 1-0 this season, opening with a win over Southeastern University last week and are ranked third in Region IV and sixth in the national rankings.

Friday's conference opener will begin at 2 p.m. and admission is free to matches at Titan Tennis Center this season.
