Three women's tennis players play for titles Sunday at Rollins College

Three members of the Eastern Florida State College women's tennis team will play in championship matches Sunday at the CL Varner Memorial Invitational at Rollins College.

Sophomore Tsveti Trifonova is in the finals of Flight A after defeating Rollins College's Ola Durzynski 6-2, 6-2 in the first match and then advance to the final by defeating Palm Beach Atlantic's Yuliia Russu 6-1, 6-1 in the semifinal.

Trifonova will play Rollins College's Kaitlynn Groves at 10 a.m.

In Flight C, Julie Martincova is in the final after defeating Eckerd College's Theo Schultz 7-6, 6-4 in the semifinal. Martincova will play Rollins College's Valentina Serino in the final at 10 a.m.

Teammate Rachel Weaver took fifth place after beating Rollins College's Lauren Lepore.

In Flight D, Ivett Casteneda will play for the title at 11:30 a.m. against Rollins College's Paula Collado Cordon. Castaneda defeated Rollins College's Natalia Collado Cordon in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 11-9 in the semifinals.

Teammate Marta Escude Paricio took fifth place on Saturday afternoon.

In Flight B, sophomore Chengeto Moyana will play for fifth place at 11 a.m. against Palm Beach Atlantic's Verina Weindl.

In doubles, Trifonova and Martincova will team up to play for fifth place in Flight A against Palm Beach Atlantic's Weindl and Russu at 8:30 a.m.
