Women's tennis team compete in ITA Regional Championships

The Eastern Florida State College women's tennis team is competing in the ITA Regional Championships at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa this weekend.

The Titans return two players from last year's team including Tsveti Trifonova who made it to the finals of Singles Flight 2 in the Region 8 Tournament last season.

"I am glad to be back, we have a new team with a lot of new girls and I think we will be pretty good, we are supporting each other and competing as a team," Trifonova said. "We just need to compete to the best of their ability and the results will show up. Nobody expects us to do well but I think we will be competitive."

The tournament lasts until Sunday with the winners advancing to the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships in Newport Beach, Calif.
