Women's tennis team blanks Southern Indiana

The Eastern Florida State College women's tennis team defeated Southern Indiana 9-0 Thursday afternoon to improve to 5-2 on the season.

Dugleisy Linarez and Shaeda Nickle scored the first point of the day in doubles with an 8-1 victory at No. 2 doubles. Sarah Manseri and Yuliana Monroy won at No. 1 doubles 8-2.

Emma Othmer and Jaime Duque finished the sweep with an 8-5 win at No. 3.

Linarez continued her winning ways with a 6-0,6-1 win at No. 3 singles for the Titans, while Monroy clinched the fifth point of the day with a 6-2,6-4 at No. 1 singles. She improves her singles record to 6-1 this season.

The Lady Titans will be at home to take on Hillsborough Community College, who are No. 2 in the latest ITA Junior College rankings, on Saturday at 11 a.m. Admission is free to tennis matches at Titan Tennis Center.
