Women's tennis team blanks SCF Manatee
The Eastern Florida State College women's tennis team banked the State College of Florida Manatee Thursday afternoon at Titan Tennis Center.
The Titans picked up the 9-0 win as the No. 3 doubles team of Jaime Duque and Emma Othmer picked up the first win of the day 8-0.
No. 1 doubles Yuliana Monroy and Sarah Manseri won 8-2 and Dugleisy Linarez and Shaeda Nickle won 8-4.
Monroy defeated Chelsea Samways in No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-1 while Manseri defeated Laura Illanes-Rodrguez in No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-1. Linares beat Diarra Thomas in her No. 3 singles match 6-0, 6-1 and Duque won a tight first set 7-6(5) and then 6-1 over Sandra Weiss. Nickle picked up a win at No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-1 and Othmer won at No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
The Titans will be back at Titan Tennis Center Saturday afternoon, hosting Broward College at 1 p.m. Admission is free.
