Tennis Records Victories in Tournament

Eastern Florida's women's tennis team finished with several victories on Saturday at the USTA /ITA Regional Tournament at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs.

Freshmen Annaleigh Collings and Giulianna Hull won the doubles consolation final 8-6. In the singles consolation bracket Collings and classmate Naomi Villa each won a match, Collings prevailing 6-0, 6-0 and Villa 6-2, 6-2 before losing in the next round, 6-2, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-1 respectively.

Villa and sophomore Nicole Trio lost in the semifinals of the main doubles draw, 8-0.

"We closed out the tournament with a few more wins and I look forward to seeing the effort and enthusiasm from this weekend carry over to our off-season training," said Eastern Florida head coach Jerry Thor.

"They will use the experience to improve their games and gain confidence heading into the spring season."

Tennis plays its championship season in the spring. Eastern Florida will play on its eight new, state-of-the-art courts at the Titan Tennis Center on the Melbourne Campus for the first time.
