Women's soccer team falls to Tyler in Alabama

The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team lost a battle of top three teams in the nation on Thursday night in Alabama.

The second-ranked Titans lost 2-1 to No. 3 Tyler Junior College at the 17 Springs facility in Millbrook, Alabama.

The Titans took the lead with a little over 10 minutes left in the first half as Sydney Aldeghi hit a nice corner kick and Lili Baidoe headed it into the back of the net. It was Baidoe's fifth goal of the season and gave Eastern Florida State College a lead heading into halftime.

But the second half turned as Tyler Junior College came out on the attack. After hitting a shot off the cross bar, a couple of minutes later the Apache tied the match 1-1.

They would later score the game winner off a corner kick to take a 2-1 lead.

Late in the contest the Titans had a shot to tie things but a great save preserved the win for Tyler.

Eastern Florida State College (2-1) will play LSU-Eunice on Saturday afternoon beginning at noon in Alabama.
