Women's soccer team faces Seminole State (OK) in national tournament semifinals

The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team is in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament semifinals for the fifth straight season.

The Titans will play Seminole State College (OK) Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. for a spot in the national tournament final on Saturday.

Eastern Florida State College won Pool C with a 2-0 victory over No. 6 seed Hill College on Wednesday after losing 1-0 in overtime to No. 10 Rose State College in the tournament opener on Monday. 

Seminole State came into the tournament as the No. 2 seed and has had a long road to the semifinals, winning both games of Pool B in penalty kicks. On Wednesday the Trojans topped No. 7 seed Snow College 2-1 (3-2 in PKs). Seminole State College opened the tournament Monday against No. 11 Navarro 1-0 (3-2 in PKs).

Seminole State College is 15-2-4 overall and are making their third straight appearance in the national tournament and are making their first appearance in the national tournament semifinals. It's the first meeting between the two teams.

Friday's games will be shown live online on the NJCAA Network at njcaa.org/network/landing/index for $10. Tickets to watch the game at Daytona State College can be purchased for $20.
