Women's soccer team shuts out Southwestern Illinois College

The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team picked up a 4-0 win over Southwestern Illinois College Friday night at Orlando Health Stadium on the Melbourne campus.

It was the first win of the season for the fourth-ranked Titans who improved to 1-1-1 on the season.

After a two-hour weather delay, the Titans home opener got started fast as Sofie Sorum and Courtney Jade Butlion found the back of the net in the first 10 minutes of the game. It was the first goal of the season for both of them.

Freshman Laura Cetina also had a goal in the first half and added her second of the game in the second half.

The women's soccer team will travel to Pensacola to play No. 17 LSU-Eunice next Saturday. The Titans will be back at Orlando Health Stadium Sunday, Oct. 3 against No. 10 Monroe College.
