Women's soccer team plays Gordon State in Southeast District semifinal Thursday

The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team will play host Gordon State College in the Southeast District Tournament semifinal Thursday in Barnesville, Georgia. 

The Titans head into the tournament 12-0 and No. 2 in the latest NJCAA Division I poll and is averaging 0.33 goals against per game this season which is third in the nation. Sophomore goalkeeper Kiera Gibson has allowed four goals this season which is second in the nation.

Offensively the Titans are averaging 4.08 goals per game which is 25th in the nation, led by the duo of Morgan Miller and Francesca Espinoza.

Gordon State comes into the game 16-2-2 and has posted shutouts in the past six games and are 10-0 at home this season. Goalkeepers Brooke Shavers and Becca Doyle have combined for eight shutouts this season.

 Sophomore Alex Chapman leads the Highlanders with 13 goals this season.

The two teams met last year in the Southeast District Final with the Titans winning 5-0 and advancing to the national tournament.

Thursday's winner will play the winner of the first semifinal between Georgia Military and Spartanburg Methodist on Friday at 3 p.m. for the title and a berth into the NJCAA Division I Nationa Tournament which will be held at Eastern Florida State College Nov. 18-23.
